There’s something incredibly special about intimate weddings, and Karen & Phil’s garden celebration in the heart of Claremont was no exception. As a Perth wedding photographer, I’ve had the honour of witnessing many beautiful love stories, but this one truly touched my heart.
Set at the couple’s family home, this wedding felt like a warm embrace. The house, with its stunning wraparound balcony, overlooked the lush garden where the ceremony took place. With only close family present, every detail felt intentional, personal, and full of love.
he ceremony was extra meaningful with a family member officiating. The moment Karen stepped out of the house was unforgettable — her grandchildren gently walked her through the garden before her adult sons took her hand and led her down the aisle. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight — including mine. I had to take a few deep breaths to steady my camera as I captured that incredible moment.
Karen and Phil’s connection was palpable. During their heartfelt vows, tears flowed freely — their love was so evident, so raw and real. It was the kind of ceremony that reminds you why you fell in love with weddings in the first place.
The couple’s thoughtful touches made the day even more special. A talented cellist played beautiful music that floated through the garden, adding a soft, elegant atmosphere. Catering was handled by the amazing Lily Rossen, whose fresh and modern approach to food is quickly making her a favourite in the Perth wedding scene. Her dishes were not only visually stunning but full of flavour — I can’t recommend her enough.
